seuracup

Seuracup is a Helsinki youth athletics series organized by Helsingin Kisa-Veikot, with competition held at Eläintarhan kenttä. It includes sprints, middle-distance races, relays, jumps, and throws for club athletes from under-11 groups up to M17 and N17. The track events include 60m, 100m, 200m, 800m, 2000m, 4 x 50m, and 4 x 100m relays. Field events add long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, and javelin, functioning as a compact club athletics night rather than a single-distance race.

KiipulaMTB

KiipulaMTB is a Finnish cycling event series listed in Suomen Pyöräily's competition and event calendar. It is part of the national federation's race activity, with event information, registration, and results linked through the federation's calendar and results services. The listing indicates mountain bike racing rather than a single road event: Suomen Pyöräily's calendar includes cup formats such as XCO Cup and MTB Marathon Cup, each with its own rules and points systems. The participants in the series are Finnish club cyclists and race organizers, as the federation collaborates with over a hundred member clubs and publishes guidance for running competitions.

Korkeakangas-MTB

Korkeakangas-MTB is a mountain bike event held at Korkeakangas in Valkeakoski. This location functions as both a bike park and a former ski resort. While the exact timing isn't specified, the riding area is designed for downhill, enduro, XC, and trail riding. The event is organized by VlkMTB, the Valkeakoski Mountain Bike Club, which also constructs and maintains the mountain bike trails. The hill offers a 156-meter summit with 62 meters of elevation difference, suitable for racing. Participants can utilize two downhill trails and one enduro trail. DH3 features berms and jumps, DH2 has a more enduro-oriented character, and Enduro1 crosses south of the summit through rocky terrain and forest. The jump lines in the lower bike park may be altered annually, but Enduro1, DH2, and DH3 remain largely consistent. Korkeakangas also hosts numerous XC and trail routes, winter ski tracks, and an 18-hole disc golf course, positioning the race within a broader outdoor sports environment.

About cycling & running in Hämeenlinna

Hämeenlinna Base Miles

Running: Locals run Hämeenlinna from the water first. The city centre gives you the Vanajavesi riverside route, which runs about 6 km by the railway bridge and keeps the shoreline close. Vanajavesi feels best when you want easy Z2 without thinking. The 5 km illuminated forest trails roll through fine woods and bite back with hills. Ahvenisto Olympic Park adds a marked 4 km cross-country route and a 3 km illuminated trail. RaKe sits in the local race orbit. Hämeenlinna City Marathon and Aulanko Tower Trail are the anchor races.

Cycling: Locals ride out of town on gravel when they want room. Häme by Cycle connects Hämeenlinna, Riihimäki, Forssa and the Evo area, and the network mostly uses sandy roads, quiet backroads and smooth gravel. Evo Green Gold Gravel Loop gives you 35 km for a tidy endurance spin. East Strider’s Trail gives you 260 km when base miles become a proper trip. Aulanko bike trails handle the MTB itch, and VlkMTB fits that crowd too. Tawast Cycling Club covers road cycling, mountain biking, trials and triathlon. The climbs sit in Aulanko and on the rare steeper Häme by Cycle sections, where low gears earn their keep. KiipulaMTB, Korkeakangas-MTB and Korkeakangas-XCO give the dirt calendar some weight.

Season: May starts the good block, and September still belongs on the plan. Summer gives runners late-spring and early-summer athletics meets, then Hämeenlinna City Marathon lands in late July with three 14 km loops and about 4 km of riverside each lap. Late September brings Aulanko Tower Trail, while late September also brings KiipulaMTB and early August brings Korkeakangas-XCO. Runners can use the 5 km trails at Aulanko and the 3 km illuminated trail at Ahvenisto. Riders get fewer named anchors in the brief, so the season leans back toward steady Z2 and route planning until May opens the bigger days again.
