Schloss Marienburg Marathon

The Schloss Marienburg Marathon is a small running event held in November in Nordstemmen, Lower Saxony, Germany. Schloss Marienburg lends its name and provides the local setting for the race. Participants can choose the full marathon (42.2 km) or the half marathon (21.1 km). The event also features Nordic Walking and a relay race. The marathon begins at 10:00 AM and is organized by VfL Adensen-Hallerburg. This is not a large city marathon; participation is expected to be in the low hundreds, around 301 to 500 people. It functions more as a local club-organized race weekend, accommodating solo marathoners, half-marathon runners, relay teams, and walkers within the same event centered around Nordstemmen.

Hildesheimer Firmenlauf

The Hildesheimer Firmenlauf is a late-afternoon company road run held in Hildesheim, Germany, starting at Schinkelstrasse 7. The event takes place in late August. The grounds open mid-afternoon, with the main runs commencing at 5:00 PM. Participants can select between 9.5 km or 5.5 km routes. A 3.5 km option is available for walking, Nordic walking, and a beginner course for those seeking the shortest distance. The program is designed for workplace teams, not exclusively for club racers, allowing colleagues to register together and select a distance suited to their fitness. The walking and beginner groups begin before the main runs, ensuring the event progresses in waves rather than a single mass start. Following the races, an awards ceremony and prize draw occur in the early evening. Hildesheimer Firmenlauf GmbH organizes the race. Their official website provides registration, partner details, photos, and contact information.

Adlumer Abendlauf

The Adlumer Abendlauf is an evening road race held in Adlum, a part of Harsum in Lower Saxony, Germany. Participants can choose from race distances of 10.4 km, 5.2 km, 2.6 km, and 1.2 km. While current information suggests a late-spring date, previous years have seen it held on different weekends. Therefore, it is best considered a recurring local event rather than one with a set date each year. The event also features races for children and schools, providing dedicated opportunities for younger participants and families. The specifics of the route are not widely detailed, but it is identified as a road race taking place in Adlum, distinct from trail or mountain running. Race results are managed by race result, and the event's webpage provides access to start lists, results, photographs, and race reports. The sole review available awards the race an overall score of 4.1 out of 5. This review highlights particularly high ratings for the event's organization and the appeal of its course, though the rating for atmosphere is less pronounced.

About cycling & running in Hildesheim

Hildesheim Training Notes

Running: Locals run Hohnsensee when they want easy base miles and a clean loop feel. Hohnsensee running track goes along the Hohnsensee lake and on the Kalenberger Graben ditch. Hilde Run Club meets at the Trimm-dich-Pfad am Hohnsensee every Wednesday at 18:00 and regularly on Sundays at 10:00. Innerste Au running track keeps intervals simple along the river through the city. Waldquelle running route goes from Bergholzchen to Rottsberg when the legs need bite. Lange Dreisch running track goes through the nature reserve. The route is 5 km.

Cycling: give riders a proper home for road, off-road, track, mountain bike, and crossrad days. Locals use the Hi-Ring for a steady lap around the city area. The Hi-Ring is 73 km, starts anywhere, and suits riders who want medium work without making a whole day of it. Strong riders take the Hi-Ring counterclockwise, and everyone else rides clockwise for long descents and short climbs. The climbs sit on that counterclockwise lap, in the Leine Uplands, and toward Seesen on the edge of the Harz Mountains. GTF Kanalromantik, RTF Nordschleife, and Gravelride Sole und Erz work as anchor rides.

Season: May and June feel like proper build months because Adlumer Abendlauf lands on 2026-05-23, Never Give Up Hindernislauf lands on 2026-06-20, and Finienlauf lands on 2026-06-26. August keeps the city sharp because the Hildesheimer Firmenlauf lands on 2026-08-28. Summer runners stay around Hohnsensee, the Innerste river, and the nature reserve for Z2, intervals, and social miles. Summer riders stretch the legs on the Cycle path to art, Ambergau Cycle Path, Leine-Heide cycle path, and Innerste Cycle Path. Winter changes the mood, and the Haseder Silvesterlauf on 2026-12-31 gives runners a clean year-end anchor. Winter cyclists lean into steady base miles, cyclocross, and off-road work with the club crowd.
