PLAYTRI - IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga follows the half-Ironman format: a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run. The Chattanooga race utilizes the Ironman 70.3 structure, with PLAYTRI managing the practical bike aspects of the weekend as Ironman’s official triathlon store, providing onsite assistance before and during race day. The most specific detail offered is the bike support. Athletes may rent tri bikes equipped with aerobars, carbon race wheels, and either electronic or mechanical shifting, or opt for road bikes without aerobars. PLAYTRI also provides bike builds, safety checks, race-ready tune-ups, full overhauls, and a build-and-pack service. This service retrieves the bike from transition, disassembles it while the athlete is running, and leaves it packed at the designated transition spot.
Running: Chattanooga runners get easy miles on the 10-mile Riverwalk, the 5-mile South Chickamauga Greenway, and the Bluff View Art District loop. Chattanooga Track Club keeps Saturday runs going year-round from the Downtown YMCA at 6:30am. Scenic City Trail Runners meets Tuesday nights at 6pm, often from Ruby Falls. Fast Break Athletics covers easy runs, track nights, and the Church of the Long Run. St. The second route covers 2 km and gains 1,104 m. The third route runs 3 km with 1,620 m of climbing. Raccoon Mountain, Stringer's Ridge, Enterprise South Nature Park, and Five Points handle the singletrack. Cycle Sequatchie and Three-Mountain Challenge anchors fall riding.
Season: Chattanooga rides well year-round, even if one day feels like July and the next February. Most days hit 2°C or higher. Locals still get it done with early Z2, shaded trail miles, and shorter intervals when the heat stacks up. Winter days usually stay mild, but most years bring at least one day when the high stays at or below freezing. 2 freezing-high days, and snowfall changes a lot year to year. Running clubs keep meeting, and riders keep the climbs in rotation.
