Black Hawk YMCA Triathlon

The Black Hawk YMCA Triathlon is a sprint-distance race held at George Wyth State Park in Waterloo, Iowa. Participants begin in the morning and must finish a 500-meter swim, a 16.5-mile bike ride, and a 5K run by early afternoon. The event is open to individuals aged 12 to 99, and teams may compete in a relay format, with members completing different legs of the race. The race takes place within a state park located on Wyth Road, keeping all three disciplines within a single outdoor location instead of spreading them across town. A separate 500-meter open-water swim is also offered for those interested only in the swimming portion. This event is organized by the Family YMCA of Black Hawk County, which provides youth programs, swim lessons, fitness classes, childcare, chronic disease programs, and financial aid for its services.
