About this race
The Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon is a point-to-point half marathon in New York’s Finger Lakes region. It begins in Trumansburg and concludes at Cass Park in Ithaca, situated along the Cayuga Lake inlet. The race, presented by Cayuga Health with support from Island Health & Fitness, starts early in the morning. Registration opens November 1, and race-day registration is unavailable, requiring runners to plan their participation in advance.
The route commences at Trumansburg High School on South Street, proceeds through downtown Trumansburg, and then heads toward Ithaca along the upper edge of Taughannock Falls State Park. Participants will utilize the Black Diamond Rail Trail, a hard-packed gravel path, on a net downhill course before the final mile alongside Cayuga Lake leading into Cass Park. The course is equipped with five aid stations. Entrants will receive a shirt, a custom sport bottle, a finisher medal crafted by Ragged Cuts in Connecticut, and post-race food provided by Fittnell Farms.
