TC' Color Run

The TC' Color Run is a city run held in late March in Saint-Nazaire, France, offering both 5 km and 10 km routes. It adheres to the Color Run concept: a non-timed paint run without winners or prizes, where participants are showered with colored powder made from food-grade corn starch along the course. Both Saint-Nazaire courses are single loops, one 5 km and one 10 km. The broader Color Run concept originates from Holi and was developed to bring together regular runners, newcomers, and more experienced athletes in a relaxed event. The Saint-Nazaire race also supports a charitable cause, with proceeds donated to Persévérance, the endowment fund of the Institut de Cancérologie de l’Ouest.

Les Foulées du Pont

Les Foulées du Pont is a road race held in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, on the Loire-Atlantique coast of western France. Its main feature is the Saint-Nazaire Bridge, offering runners a rare opportunity to cross a major road bridge that typically handles around 30,000 vehicles daily over the Loire estuary. The event features 10 km and 5 km races, alongside children's races named Galopades enfants. The 10 km is for participants aged 16 and older, and the 5 km is for those aged 14 and older. The course begins and ends in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, incorporating town roads, a seaside environment, and the bridge or viaduct section. The Saint-Nazaire Bridge connects Saint-Brevin-les-Pins on the south bank to Saint-Nazaire on the north bank, spanning the Route bleue for 3,356 metres of concrete and steel. It includes 56 piers, 72 cable-stayed supports, a central span of 404 metres, and reaches a height of 68 metres above the estuary. Prior to the bridge's construction, ferries managed the crossing. For almost fifty years after its opening, it was the longest bridge in France. On race day, traffic is halted on the bridge, with additional limitations for pedestrians and cyclists before the road is closed.

About cycling & running in Saint-Nazaire

Saint-Nazaire Training Notes

Running: Saint-Nazaire runners keep it simple and coastal. The coastal path stays paved and lit for 5 km. The path has some gentle hills, then the Ch. Douaniers gravel takes over past Villès-Martin Beach. The 5 km loop works when intervals need less fuss. The dirt path around the lake runs 6 km. SNOS SA keeps the club vibe Chrono or Mollo. Ekiden de l'Estuaire, Foulées Nazairiennes, Ronde des douaniers, and 10 Km du Parc Paysager are the anchor races.

Cycling: Saint-Nazaire riders get their base miles from the Route bleue and the open estuary edges. Locals point the bike east for flatter alluvial terrain between the Brière and the Loire estuary. The south drops toward la Brière when you want marshland rhythm instead of punchy work. The west and north bring the hilly granite and metamorphic ground, and the hillside of Guérande is where the climbing legs start to matter. Cycling clubs are not named in the brief, so the local scene reads more route-first than club-first. Run & Bike Saint-Nazaire gives multisport types an anchor event.

Season: Spring, summer, and autumn are the good months here. The area gets 6 hours of sunshine a day in those months, so locals fit rides, tempo runs, and easy waterfront laps around long bright days. The coast keeps the air fresh for Z2, and the lake loop stays useful when the wind is up. Winter stays mild, and snow is rare, so runners and riders keep going. Rain comes often, with 116 days of precipitation a year, but the 792 mm annual total is not very intense. The city centre shifts toward lit pavement, short loops, and steady base miles.
